Games 2-5: Arizona, Bay Area, East Texas, Atlanta

On Monday, June 1st the Tidal Wave went into Phoenix and battled it out with the Arizona Sand Gnats, winning the game 13-8. Dave Sopoci put 5 in the back of the net, Tom Lunik and CJ Johnson both added hat tricks, while Mackenzie Baker netted 2 in the win.

On Wednesday, June 3rd the Tidal Wave hosted their division rival, the Bay Area Bombers. The Wave were down one with five seconds to go when Tom Lunik won the faceoff back to the extra attacker Mackenzie Baker who fired the one-timer past the Bomber goalie for the tie at 12-12. One minute into the overtime period, Baker fired another one past the goalie for the 13-12 win and her 6th goal of the game. Dave Sopoci added 3 goals, while Lunik, McGowan, Bates, and Jake Losin added a goal each.

On Saturday night the Wave began their 6 game road trip in Beaumont, Texas against the East Texas Energy. At the first intermission, the Wave were down 4-1 and at the second intermission the Wave were down 7-3. But in the third period alone, Dave Sopoci added 5 goals to the two he already had, and CJ Johnson added 2 more to the 1 he had while Shane Arhela shut down the energy in the third as the Wave escaped with a 10-7 win.

On Monday night in Atlanta, the Wave came out firing on all cylinders against the Atlanta Arsenal leading 5-0 after the first. Shane Arhela only let 3 goals by him all game, while Sopoci netted 5, Baker netted 4, Johnson netted 2, and Lunik netted 1 in the 12-3 victory.

On Wednesday night, the Wave visit the Hampton Roads Defenders in Norfolk.

Game 1: vs Los Angeles

The Tidal Wave began their season Friday night with a 12-7 win over division rival Los Angeles in front of a sellout crowd. David Sopoci netted 5 goals, with Tom Lunik and CJ Johnson both adding 2. Andrew McGowan, Mackenzie Baker, and Jake Losin also scored. Shane Arhela came up big, only allowing 7 goals last night. When asked about his performance, David Sopoci replied, "It felt good tonight to get back on the rink and playing my game, helping out my teammates and most importantly getting the win."

Special Dates on Schedule

This year there are some special dates on the Tidal Wave's roster.

-The Wave open at home against division rival Los Angeles at Envision Solar Stadium.
-Game 3 against division rival Bay Area is the Beach Towel giveaway.
-After that the Wave go on a 6 game road trip before returning home for their Game 10 game against the Sand Gnats.  That game is the sunglasses giveaway.
-After two more road games against division rivals LA and Bay Area, the Wave finish with 9 of 12 at home.
-In Game 15, the Tidal Wave host the defending champion Massachusetts Militia on Rally Towel day
-In Game 21, the Wave look for revenge against the Michigan Motorheads after their loss in the playoffs last year on white out day.
-In the season finale against LA, the Wave will host Fan Appreciation Day, giving away the jerseys of their backs.
-For any playoff game, it will be a redout game with rally towels.

Fans are encouraged to wear red to all home games except for the whiteout against Michigan in Game 21
